When to Buy a Padel Racket: Month-by-Month Sales Calendar

The best time to buy a padel racquet is when its successor launches, or during the January sales, the summer sales and Black Friday. Outgoing models drop the most, while brand-new models rarely get meaningful discounts in their first months. Whatever the month, check the price history before you trust a “sale” label.

Why do padel prices follow a calendar?

Three cycles move padel prices: brand launches, retail sales periods and stock clearance. When a brand releases the new version of a racquet, shops need space for it, so the previous version gets marked down. Sales periods add discounts across whole ranges. And at the end of a collection, retailers clear the sizes and colours that did not sell, which is why shoes and bags often reach their lowest prices late in their life.

None of this is fixed to the day. Each brand and each shop runs its own calendar, and a racquet can be discounted in any month if stock is high. The pattern below is what tends to repeat, not a promise.

When are new padel racquets released?

Most major brands renew their main ranges once a year, and new models often reach the shops around the start of the year; some brands add a second wave or special editions in autumn. Because dates differ from brand to brand, the practical signal is simple: when a new version appears in the racquet listing, last year’s model is the one to watch. It is usually very close in shape and feel, and its price tends to fall over the following weeks as shops clear stock.

Is Black Friday really the best time to buy padel gear?

Black Friday is often the widest sale of the year, but not automatically the cheapest moment for a given racquet. Some shops raise the crossed-out price a few weeks before, and some models are cheaper in January once they become last season’s version. How do I know a sale price is genuine?

Compare the sale price with the product’s own history rather than with the crossed-out price. On every product page, PadelRadar, the padel price comparison site, shows three reference points:

• All-time low: the lowest price recorded since we started tracking the product.
• 3-month low: the lowest price over roughly the last 90 days.
• Suggested price: the retailer’s crossed-out price, or the brand’s RRP when no shop shows one.

How to save the most, whatever the month

1. Decide first, then wait. Choose the right model with our guides, then let the price come to you.
2. Buy last year’s version. The outgoing model usually gives the best value per euro.
3. Set a price alert. With price tracking, click “Watch price”, set a target and we email you after the daily update once it is reached.
4. Compare across countries. The same racquet is often priced differently in Spain, France or Germany; check delivery costs and returns before you order.
5. Stock up on consumables during sales. Overgrips and balls do not go out of fashion.
